WWE is seemingly open to working with other promotions now that 2024 is in full swing under the leadership of Triple H, as they’ve worked with All Japan Pro Wrestling recently and are reportedly interested in working with STARDOM and NJPW.
Ongoing relationship
WWE sent Charlie Dempsey, the son of William Regal, to challenge for the Triple Crown title at New Year Giant Series 2024 on January 3, but came up short.
Triple H and WWE President Nick Khan could be looking at making another attempt at a relationship with New Japan Pro Wrestling now that Hiroshi Tanahashi is President.
Internal reaction
While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer was asked whether the Charlie Dempsey match was a one-off or if WWE will send more talent to Japan as part of the relationship.
“I was told it’s an ongoing thing, although there are certainly people in All Japan who have mixed feelings on it. But right now, that’s the president of All Japan [decision]. And, you know, WWE, they’ve got a deal going right now,” Meltzer stated.
