WWE changed things through this year’s Draft as several NXT stars were called up to the main roster while other wrestlers switched brands from Raw to SmackDown.
As previously reported, there are big changes going to be happening heading into SummerSlam as Triple H finishes up storylines that were put into place by Vince McMahon.
During Friday’s SmackDown, Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair, who had been drafted to SmackDown, referred to herself as the SmackDown Women’s Champion after being drafted despite not having the SmackDown Women’s Title. On the same show, Rhea Ripley was billed as the SmackDown Women’s Champion after being drafted from Raw to SmackDown while holding the Raw Women’s Title. Although not confirmed, it’s believed there will be a title swap happening soon, similar to what WWE did with Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair in 2021.
While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted there is a lot of chaos going on in WWE as people are being told different things. Meltzer pointed out that Belair and The Street Profits knew about switching brands in advance as Belair did a pre-taped promo and The Street Profits already had new gear made.
“So it’s very clear that like again, people are being told different things that change all the time. It’s not like complete chaos, but there’s a lot of chaos,” Meltzer stated.
