Fans can look forward to seeing a third installment of the “Knives Out” movie franchise.
The mystery franchise released its first film in 2019 with Daniel Craig as its leading star. On a $40 million budget, it grossed $311.9 million at the box office. In 2022, they returned for the second film, “Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery,” which featured Dave Bautista. It also starred Craig, Janelle Monáe, Kathryn Hahn, Leslie Odom Jr., Jessica Henwick, Madelyn Cline, and Kate Hudson.
That movie was distributed by Netflix that also had a $40 million budget while drawing $15 million at the box office, although it was mostly seen on Netflix and highly praised.
Rian Johnson, who wrote and directed the two previous films, revealed to The Wrap that he has a draft of what the next story will be.
“It’s coming along. I obviously couldn’t work during the strike, and now that it’s over, I’m diving in full force. I’ve got the premise, I’ve got the setting, I’ve got what the movie is in my head. It’s just a matter of writing the damn thing.”
