Bryan Danielson is getting closer to making his return to in-ring action after being sidelined for about a month.
The top AEW star suffered a broken arm at the AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door pay-per-view event in June when battling Kazuchika Okada in the main event. He worked the last few minutes of the bout with the injury.
The initial hope was Danielson would only be out for 6-8 weeks, but it was worse than believed, and he had to undergo surgery on July 3rd. While appearing on The Nikki & Brie Show, Bryan detailed the injury.
In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer provided an update on Danielson, noting he’s expected back in October, possibly allowing him to work the AEW WrestleDream pay-per-view event on October 1 in Seattle, Washington, the home state of Danielson.
As previously reported, top NJPW stars are not expected to work the show, a tribute event to NJPW’s founder Antonio Inoki.
