As we’ve been reporting on the free WrestlingNews.co site, several WrestleMania plans have changed.

WrestlingNews.co first reported several weeks ago that there were plans for two major championship matches for WrestleMania and there were/are plans to eventually split the WWE Championship and the Universal Championship.

The original plan for the main event for night 1 at WrestleMania was for Cody Rhodes or Drew McIntyre to wrestle against Seth Rollins for the WWE Championship. These were the plans in place before they got word from The Rock that he would not be able to wrestle this year against Roman Reigns.

As everyone knows, for the second night, the company was always hoping to get The Rock vs. Reigns but for months, the backup plan has been Cody Rhodes and that’s the direction they are going in right now.

As of now, it looks like if they are still moving forward with plans to split up the two World Titles then it will happen after WrestleMania. As a result of the changes, McIntyre seems to be headed towards an Intercontinental Title match with Gunther and Seth Rollins is locked in for a match against Logan Paul.
