Injuries in wrestling are going to happen no matter the in-ring style of a performer, and it has happened for decades due to physicality. AEW and NJPW are just days away from the Forbidden Door, with several top matches in place.
One of those bouts is Kazuchika Okada vs. Bryan Danielson in a singles match, a dream bout for many. Some fans may have noticed the top AEW star has been working a reduced in-ring schedule.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reported that Danielson has been “banged up” of late, leading to limited spots in his Anarchy in the Arena match at AEW Double or Nothing. Before that, he hadn’t wrestled since the 60 Minute Iron Match main event for the World Title against MJF at AEW Revolution.
Instead, he’s been doing commentary for Blackpool Combat Club matches and avoiding contact in brawling angles.
