MJF had a 60-minute iron man match with Bryan Danielson in the main event of AEW Revolution on Sunday night, where he went over to retain the World Heavyweight Championship.
It was highly praised by fans that ended when MJF put Danielson in a crossface to retain the AEW World Heavyweight Champion.
The top AEW star had a controversial moment during the match when he threw tequila on a fan at ringside. MJF didn’t know it was liquor but thought it was water and had a serious conversation with AEW President Tony Khan after the match. AEW made things right with the fan and his mother. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reported, “MJF had went into this match ‘banged up’ from the brawl a couple of weeks ago.” It’s unclear exactly what he was dealing with, but it didn’t impact his performance in the match.
As of this writing, AEW has yet to announce what MJF will do on this Wednesday’s Dynamite episode.
