Top free agent has agreed to terms with AEW

Bandido was a man in demand, as both WWE and AEW were interested in signing him. However, it looks like it was AEW President Tony Khan who was able to sign him.

Bandido made his promotional debut last week on Dynamite by challenging Chris Jericho for the ROH World Heavyweight Title. Jericho successfully defended the strap for the first time against the former champion.

As previously reported, Bandido was offered a full-time contract immediately after the match by Khan. While speaking on last Friday’s Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez noted that he heard WWE was also interested in Bandido.

Fightful Select reported today that Bandido has agreed to terms with All Elite Wrestling. The report noted that they “haven’t heard that Bandido has officially signed, but he was offered a deal last week, and those close to him say that he’s agreed to terms.”

Bandido was booked on short notice and struggled to get gear in time for the match with Jericho. He pieced together what he wore that night.

Those backstage in AEW spoke highly of Bandido’s demeanor and attitude in the situation regarding his gear and being booked to put Jericho over. There had been interest from numerous companies in signing Bandido in recent months.
