It’s looking more likely that WWE will land a top free agent that they’ve been hoping to sign in the new year, an important step in what looks to be an already promising start to 2024.
Long-term interest
As previously reported, there has been massive WWE interest in Giulia for months as it was believed she has some sort of offer from WWE. The NJPW star is not allowed to sign with anyone, including WWE until her deal is up in March.
Although many believed AEW would make an attempt to sign Giulia, who is currently the New Japan Strong Women’s Championship after defeating Willow Nightingale, that’s not the case as they never made a serious play for her.
A previous update came out earlier this month noting that AEW is no longer in contention of signing her as it was coming down to either joining WWE or staying with NJPW.
Landing spot
In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that Giulia is leaning toward signing with WWE.
Meltzer wrote, “Giulia right now is seen as likely to be coming here in 2024. Her contract expires with Stardom in March. She may not be coming in right away, but as of right now she’s leaning toward coming here in 2024.”
