Top star in talks with AEW about potentially signing a new contract

It looks like one of the top stars in AEW could be staying with the company if contract talks work out for both sides.

It was reported by Fightful Select that former AEW World Champion “Hangman” Adam Page and AEW are “in the process of working towards a potential new contract.”

Hangman has been with the company since the day it officially launched on January 1, 2019 and given that he’s close to The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega, Page staying with AEW could mean that The Elite might be leaning towards staying as well. That’s not confirmed that The Elite are staying and nothing is guaranteed until the deals are signed.

Fightful adds that the negotiations between Page and AEW started “fairly recently” and Page has the same representation as The Bucks and Omega. Again, we don’t know if Page will be staying but one has to assume that if he stays, it’s a safer bet that The Elite will lean in that direction as well.

With rumors about a brand split between Dynamite and the new Collision show (rumored name), it’s very important for AEW to keep top talent like Page and The Elite as they need as many big names on the roster as they look to secure a new TV deal.
