Top WWE Star Appears to Have Retired

It looks like WWE may have lost one of its biggest stars due to retirement.

That star is Ronda Rousey, who had a breakout rookie year in 2018 by making her debut at the Royal Rumble before working her first wrestling match by teaming with Kurt Angle to beat Triple H and Stephanie McMahon.

She later had a long reign as Raw Women’s Champion before wrapping up her first run in 2019 at WrestleMania by putting over Becky Lynch in a triple threat match.

Rousey took time off to start a family and returned in January 2022, where she won the Women’s Royal Rumble Match. She also won the SmackDown Women’s Title a few times and had a run as a Women’s Tag Team Champion with Shayna Baszler.

Rousey lost to Baszler in an MMA Rules Match at the WWE SummerSlam premium live event from Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan this past Summer, wrapping up her second run. Following the match, Rousey noted in an Instagram post she had no reason to stay in WWE.

Rousey recently took to Instagram to share a photo of herself and her daughter with the caption, “Sorry, I couldn’t hear you through my retirement” from Bernie Lumen.

This is pure speculation that she has retired from wrestling as she hasn’t come out and stated so as a fact, but this cryptic post certainly has fans talking.
