Kevin Owens will have to come to terms with WWE on a new contract when his current deal expires in the near future.
Owens has done it all in WWE, from being a World Champion to main-eventing WrestleMania to convincing Steve Austin to come out of retirement for one more match. Last year, Owens had been working alongside Sami Zayn as the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions, where they won the titles from The Usos in the headliner of WrestleMania 39.
In recent months, Owens has been paired with Randy Orton on WWE television as they had been in a feud that led to a triple threat match at WrestleMania 40 with United States Champion Logan Paul, resulting in Paul retaining the title.
While speaking with The Metro UK, Owens commented on his future with the company as his deal is up in nine months.
“I really don’t take anything for granted, I’ve nine months left on my contact, and I don’t know what can happen from here on out. That’s just life. If I’ve learned anything over the last few years, it’s that nothing is guaranteed. I’ve learned that through some very unfortunate events, we’ve lost so many good people that was never expected.”
“This has been my home for 10 years and it’s beyond the locker room. There’s some very, very, very special people that work behind the scenes that I’ve become very close with, and I really can’t imagine not seeing them as part of my life.”
The Bloodline’s Solo Sikoa & Tama Tonga beat Owens & Orton at the WWE Backlash France premium live event from LDLC Arena in Lyon-Decines, France, with the help of the returning Tanga Loa.
