2024 is going to be an interesting year for WWE as they look to lock down several superstar’s contracts and finalize a new TV deal for the rights to Raw after securing SmackDown’s rights with the USA Network.
Time is ticking on Drew McIntyre’s contract with WWE and his status with the company has been a hot topic as of late ahead of his next big match.
McIntyre will challenge Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Title at Saturday’s Crown Jewel PLE. Some fans were surprised the company would put McIntyre in this spot due to his contract status.
This is after McIntyre took a hiatus from WWE after WrestleMania 39, which was at a time when he was reportedly frustrated with creative and the talks for a new WWE deal that expires next year.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reported that despite rumors going around on social media that McIntyre had signed a new deal, that’s simply not the case, as he has not re-signed.
McIntyre still has five months left on his deal with it likely up ahead of WrestleMania 40. He joins Becky Lynch among the talent that have their deals expire in 2024.
