Former WWE Champion Drew McIntyre is not happy with certain things in WWE and he’s not shy about expressing those feelings on social media.
The official Royal Rumble 2024 poster was released today and McIntyre was not included. The names featured are Roman Reigns, Finn Balor, The Judgment Day, Seth Rollins, Rey Mysteiro, Jey Uso, CM Punk, Logan Paul, Gunther, Bobby Lashley, Asuka, Randy Orton, Becky Lynch, Sami Zayn, and Cody Rhodes. For those wondering when the poster was created, it should be pretty obvious that it was made this week since Punk is one of the faces included. McIntyre posted, “Are you starting to understand my frustrations now?”
McIntyre has been seemingly posting in character as well when he referred to “snakes” in the company in a post that included a photo of himself standing across from Randy Orton. On TV, McIntyre has been portrayed as a tweener in some respects because while it seems that he’s turned heel by attacking Jey Uso and Seth Rollins, his story portrays him as somewhat sympathetic for not blindly trusting Jey Uso after what The Bloodline did to him and the roster over the last few years.
With that being said, McIntyre could be gone from WWE in a few months if he and the company do not come to terms on a new deal. PWInsider.com reported that they have not entered deep discussions but the company feels like there’s still plenty of time to work out a deal before his contract expires shortly after WrestleMania. McIntyre is reportedly willing to let his contract expire, if necessary, so he can spend more time with his family in Scotland.
