Drew McIntyre finds himself in an interesting spot in his pro wrestling career as he is not only dealing with an injury, but he’s reportedly unhappy with his position in the company, and his contract is slated to be up this year.
Fans haven’t seen McIntyre wrestle since his triple threat match against Sheamus and Gunther at WrestleMania 39 earlier this month, with the WWE Intercontinental Championship on the line that saw Gunther go over to retain his title, extending his lengthy title reign.
As previously reported, McIntyre is said to be far apart on money with the company. Last week, he blacked out his Twitter account and removed WWE references from the bio.
In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that the former WWE Champion will be sidelined for a little bit longer.
“McIntyre won’t be in action at least the next few weeks and there is nothing else new right now on his situation.”
As of this writing, McIntyre is not advertised for the July 7th SmackDown TV event at Madison Square Garden, nor is Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns.
