WWE holds tonight’s SmackDown episode from the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, CA, as the road to Fastlane continues.
Things confirmed for the show include WWE United States Champion Rey Mysterio vs. Santos Escobar, Charlotte Flair vs. Bayley, and Grayson Waller Effect featuring Bobby Lashley. LA Knight is also slated to make his return after missing last week’s show due to a positive COVID-19 test.
The arena is advertising World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins vs. Intercontinental Champion GUNTHER as the dark match for the show, which will be their first singles match against each other in four years.
According to CageMatch.net, their first and only singles match happened on a November 2019 Raw, where Rollins went over in four minutes due to a DQ leading to an eight-man tag team match being set up.
That same month at Survivor Series, they worked a Raw vs. SmackDown vs. NXT 15-Man Elimination Triple Threat match that Team SmackDown won. This past January on Raw, they were part of a six-man tag team match and were both part of this year’s Men’s Royal Rumble Match.
