Trinity on her WWE departure: “I feel like it was a blessing in disguise”

Trinity, formerly known as Naomi in WWE, has been away from the company for nearly a year and now enters a new chapter in her pro wrestling career as she made her Impact Wrestling debut at the television tapings in Chicago on Friday night.

Her debut will air on next week’s episode of Impact on AXS TV. For more on that, click here.

Due to creative differences, Trinity walked out of WWE alongside Mercedes Mone last May. They were later suspended until they negotiated their releases.

While speaking to NBC Chicago, Trinity was asked about her time away after departing from WWE. She started by noting that she’s been wrestling for 14 years, and then one day, everything changed, leading to her whole world being turned upside down and things being shuffled around.

“It took a little time to just process everything and really sort out what I want to do, where I want to be,” Trinity said. “I feel like it was a blessing in disguise. I feel that it’s allowed me to grow and become better in every way, in every aspect. Show me how strong I really am. And now I’ve got this new journey ahead of me, these new goals, and I’m excited and ready to step into this new chapter.”

She will work her first match since May 2022 tonight at Saturday’s TV tapings. Trinity added that being back in wrestling and being somewhere she feels welcomed while receiving love was overwhelming for her.
