Following last night’s AEW Dynamite, two AEW stars are expressing frustration with where they stand in the company.
Last night, The Gunn Club defeated The Varsity Blondes in just seconds. The match was so quick that Brian Pillman, Jr. was never given a chance to tag in. Pillman and Griff Garrison sent out some tweets that indicate that they are frustrated.
One of the retweets was from someone saying that The Varsity Blondes deserve better.
Another one pointed out that Pillman didn’t have a chance to get into the match. There was another retweet from someone suggesting that Chris Jericho take Pillman under his wing so he can help make him a star.
Another retweet from Pillman: “Great to see the roster that carried AEW through the Pandemic Era getting treated like this. Awesome. Love it. #VarsityBlonds @FlyinBrianJr and @griffgarrison1 deserve better.”
There were several other retweets and “likes” that shared a similar sentiment, including one suggestion that they turn heel.
Griff Garrison simply tweeted, “Frustrated.”
It’s not clear if there are plans for them right now but several months ago there was an accidental superkick spot that seemed to tease a possible split and one of the Varsity Blondes turning heel so this could all just be a slow burn for one or both of them to turn heel. After last night, it’s clear that if AEW is going to push them, then they need to be repackaged because they have lost a lot of steam since Julia Hart was moved into the House of Black stable.
Mate @FlyinBrianJr and @griffgarrison1 deserved a better showing than that.
Looking forward to the day our Tag Title match is Varsity Blonds vs The Acclaimed. #AEWDynamite
