The WWE Draft is returning later this month as it will be a two-night event across April 26 and April 29 on Raw and SmackDown. Main roster and NXT stars will be included in the Draft.
Fightful Select’s Corey Brennan reports The Final Testament and Ivar’s appearances on last week’s NXT have set the stage for more main roster stars to go to NXT as a way to renew the focus on the third WWE brand. The next two weeks of NXT will focus on the draft in the lead-up to Spring Breakin’.
Carmelo Hayes and Ilja Dragunov are said to be “a lock” for the main roster in the draft, while NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez’s status for the draft still remains up in the air. WWE has also discussed bringing up Tony D’Angelo’s Family and Baron Corbin to the main roster.
WWE holding the Draft on the week of the NFL Draft is being done to capitalize on “draft fever” as they have in the past.
