Two WWE stars hurt on SmackDown, match stopped by referee (Updated)

There appears to have been an injury tonight on WWE Friday Night SmackDown.

Carmelo Hayes appeared on the show tonight during a backstage segment with Austin Theory and Grayson Waller. The segment led to a match being made for later in the show,

Hayes wrestled Theory and the match was stopped abruptly by the referee after a Spanish Fly move off the top where it looked like both men’s heads and/or necks hit hard on the ring mat. The referee saw this and made the call to immediately stop the match. Referees are told to end the match if they see that a wrestler has suffered some sort of injury, including a neck injury or concussion. See the photo and video below of the incident.

There’s no word yet on Hayes and Theory’s condition. We’ll update this when we hear more. Click here for complete WWE SmackDown results.
