Ariel Helwani broke the news on Twitter that UFC legend Daniel Cormier will serve as the guest referee in the Fight Pit match between Matt Riddle and Seth Rollins. The match will happen next Saturday at Extreme Rules in Philadelphia.
Before the match happens, Rollins and Riddle will face off this Monday Night on Raw and there is a No Contact clause in place that says the match is off if they lay hands on each other.
Cormier is a long-time WWE fan and there have been rumors in recent years about him wrestling for the company or getting a role on the commentary team. Extreme Rules will be the first time he’s been advertised as part of a match so this could lead to something else for down the line.
Cormier is a UFC Hall Of Famer. He’s a former UFC Heavyweight and Light Heavyweight Champion and is considered to be one of the greatest MMA fighters of all-time.
