Tony Khan took a shot at the person who runs the USA Network account in response to something that was posted last night after it was announced that Jinder Mahal would be challenging Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship next Monday on WWE Raw.
Raj Giri pointed out that Rollins and Mahal have a history since Rollins defeated Mahal to become the first NXT Champion. The USA Network account chimed in and asked, “What was the cagematch rating?”
Many on social media saw that as a shot at AEW’s Tony Khan, who has cited Cagematch.net user ratings in the past when talking about great AEW matches. The USA Network account is believed to be run by a USA Network employee but it’s clear that the person who runs is very on top of what is going on in the wrestling Twitter/X-verse.
Khan saw the tweet and posted:
“A moral victory for USA is one win more than their World Title challenger Jinder Mahal has in the past 364 days… because it’s been literally a full year since he won a match.
You really put AEW in our place getting Jinder Mahal in a big match on your tv show. Do it more often”
Khan sent a follow up post:
“A double standard: @730hook 28-1 career record, on winning streak calls out the Champ, a logical challenge sparks online outrage
Jinder has literally lost every single match he’s in for the past year, immediately gets title shot, where is the rage
#AEWDynamite TOMORROW on TBS”So there you have it…USA Network and Tony Khan are feuding on social media. What a time to be a wrestling fan.
