This week’s episode of AEW Dynamite was a notable one for not only what was presented on television but also a free agent talent that was backstage that could throw a curveball in an expected WWE talent signing.
The show
The show featured TNT Champion Christian Cage defending against Dustin Rhodes, ROH Six-Man Tag Team Champions The Gates of Agony & Brian Cage defending against The Bang Bang Gang’s Jay White & The Gunns, AEW World Champion Samoa Joe defending against Hook, and The Young Bucks speaking for the first time since returning.
There was also an interesting name backstage at the show – Kamille, who had been a regular in the NWA since October 2018, becoming one of the biggest stars that the NWA had under contract. She had a lengthy reign as the NWA Women’s Champion.
As previously reported, Kamille is expected to join WWE, where she will likely start in NXT. However, that may not be the case.
The visit
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reported Kamille was backstage at the show. The media outlet was told in recent weeks that WWE was expected to make an offer to her to join the NXT brand. It’s unclear whether they made the offer yet.
Those that they’ve spoken to haven’t confirmed she’s signed a deal as of yet. Instead, it’s believed that she was visiting friends at the show.
