WWE CEO Vince McMahon is backstage at WWE Friday Night SmackDown in Madison Square Garden, per PWInsider.
McMahon’s presence backstage is not a shock since Madison Square Garden is considered to be WWE’s home arena and New York City is not too far from the company headquarters in Stamford, CT. McMahon has continued to run things remotely for most of this year but has been backstage to a few shows.
Tonight’s stacked show will feature The Trial of the Tribal Chief Roman Reigns. The belief is that a title match will be set up soon with Jey Uso challenging Reigns for the Undisputed Universal Championship at SummerSlam.
Also announced for tonight is Edge as the special guest on The Grayson Waller Effect, Sheamus vs. Austin Theory for the United States Championship, and Karrion Kross vs. AJ Styles.
Tonight’s show at Madison Square Garden is sold out.
