Just a few months after returning as the Executive Director of WWE’s Board of Directors, Vince McMahon is once again an employee of his company.
McMahon forced his way back into the company this past January and positioned it as him exploring the possibility of WWE being sold this year and helping with the talks for a new media rights deal for Raw and Smackdown.
Days later, his daughter, Stephanie McMahon, stepped down as WWE co-CEO shortly after he returned. Last July, McMahon resigned as WWE CEO and Chairman amid the sexual misconduct and hush money allegations that were being investigated at the time.
Although Vince has yet to take over creative control of the company as Triple H is in that role for now, many fans, wrestlers, and staff have speculated that it’s just a matter of time before he’s back in power.
McMahon was backstage at a recent Raw event where he showed off his new look with dyed hair and a mustache. Also, he’s planning to be at WrestleMania 39. As previously reported, the belief is that there is more going on behind the scenes at WWE with McMahon.
According to a new SEC filing that was recently filed, McMahon is now officially a WWE employee again. He was given a stock award with a market value of $4.7 million.
He remains the controlling shareholder of the company. The deal stipulates that he will serve as Executive Chairman for a term of two years from his start date of January 9, 2023, which was when he returned to WWE.
