Vince McMahon Will No Longer Be Majority WWE Owner After Today

Today and tomorrow are historic days in professional wrestling history.

Today is the last day that Vince McMahon is the majority owner of WWE. As many of you know, it was announced in April that McMahon agreed to sell the company to Ari Emmanuel’s Endeavor group. The deal is expected to close tomorrow and that means that both WWE and UFC will be under the same umbrella.

As for day-to-day operations in WWE, not much is expected to change as Triple H is expected to remain as the head of creative and McMahon will still run the company as usual. McMahon will be the Executive Chair of the new company while owning 16%.

There have been no hints on if McMahon plans to appear on TV but one has to wonder if at least his name will be mentioned on WWE programming this week. McMahon purchased the World Wrestling Federation from his father Vince McMahon, Sr. in 1982. The sale was kept quiet for a while and then the younger McMahon quietly began working on national expansion, essentially putting the regional territories out of business and growing WWF, now WWE, into a worldwide company.
