Cody Rhodes was there for an emotional CM Punk at Monday’s episode of WWE Raw.
The battle
Punk was injured in just his third WWE match back, his first televised, at this past Saturday’s Royal Rumble PLE, where he worked the Men’s Royal Rumble Match as he made it to the final two, where he battled Rhodes, who went over.
Heading into the bout, Rhodes was expected to challenge Roman Reigns for the Undisputed Universal Title, while Punk was expected to challenge Seth Rollins for the World Title.
Injury
Punk suffered a torn triceps and is heading towards surgery. Punk will likely need 4-6 months of recovery and physical therapy to come back, putting him out of action past WrestleMania. This is something he confirmed on Monday’s Raw before Drew McIntyre laid him out.
