WWE Files Trademark for a New Ring Name

WWE filed for a new ring name with the United States Patent and Trademark Office on May 9.

The name, “Kelani Jordan,” is listed for entertainment services such as wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer. The full description reads as follows:

“Mark For: KELANI JORDAN™ trademark registration is intended to cover the categories of entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer rendered and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; providing information in the fields of sports and entertainment via an online community portal; providing a website in the field of sports entertainment information; fan club services, namely, organizing sporting events in the field of wrestling for wrestling fan club members; organizing social entertainment events for entertainment purposes for wrestling fan club members; providing online newsletters in the fields of sports entertainment; online journals, namely blogs, in the field of sports entertainment.”

This is the new ring name of former Michigan State University gymnast Lea Mitchell, who signed with the company in August 2022 after attending the tryouts over SummerSlam weekend in Nashville, TN. She was part of the Michigan State gymnastics team from 2018-2022, where she picked up 23 event victories.

Jordan made her in-ring debut last October in the Halloween Costume Battle Royal at the NXT live event in Melbourne, FL, before working several live events over the last few months. Jordan did appear as one of Grayson Waller’s Girls at Vengeance Day in February.

Jordan made her television debut when she worked with Wendy Choo on Friday’s NXT Level Up episode.
