Zeus was the ring name of Tommy Lister Jr. who appeared in the No Holds Barred movie with Hulk Hogan in 1989. The movie was financed by WWE, where Zeus was a heel leading to a feud with Hogan in WWE. Zeus was booked as a monster heel who would not sell moves from opponents. The storyline was that Zeus was jealous of being billed under Hogan and losing to Hogan in the movie, so he wanted to beat him in “real life.” They worked a tag team match at SummerSlam that year where Hogan and Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake went over Zeus and Randy Savage.

Coming out of the bout, Zeus formed an alliance with Ted DiBiase leading into that year’s Survivor Series, where The Hulkamaniacs (Hulk Hogan, Jake “The Snake” Roberts, and Demolition) beat The Million Dollar Team (Ted DiBiase, Zeus, and The Powers of Pain). The feud wrapped up in a steel cage at the No Holds Barred pay-per-view event. Zeus made his last WWE appearance at the Royal Rumble in 1990 before going to WCW in 1996 as Z-Gangsta, as part of The Alliance to End Hulkamania for a month.
