WWE Hall of Famer took to Twitter today to celebrate his 50 years in the wrestling business. Flair got his start in 1972 after training in Minnesota under Verne Gagne.
Flair tweeted, “Thank You To Everyone Who Helped Me Celebrate My 50 Years In The Business! One Thing Is For Certain… I WILL NEVER RETIRE! WOOOOO! #50YearsOfFlair”
The “I will never retire!” line could be taken in jest because it’s a play off one of his last promos leading up to his WWE retirement match WrestleMania 24 but Flair has hinted at wanting to wrestle again after hearing about Ricky Steamboat coming out of retirement.
“Steamboat coming back makes me want to come back again,” Flair said on a recent ‘To Be The Man’ podcast. “I went back up to Lincoln and started training again. What else is there to do?”
Flair’s last match took place in Nashville during Starrcast and it was clear that he was not himself during the match. Flair later stated on his podcast that he passed out twice during the match but it was because he was dehydrated.
