WWE Has Discussed Making A Change To WrestleMania

Since the introduction of the event decades ago, WrestleMania has been WWE’s biggest event of the year, typically held in March or April, but that trend may be changing in the near future as the company continues to evolve.

WWE President Nick Khan has made various changes to the company and is looking to make more. WrestleMania XL in Philadelphia was a major success for the company this year.

Khan spoke at the SBJ World Congress of Sports last month noting that WrestleMania 41 won’t go head-to-head with the NCAA Men’s Tournament Final Four, something that happens in early April and something WrestleMania XL had to deal with.

As previously reported, Minnesota has been considered the front-runner for months to host WrestleMania 41, although their chances are said to be decreasing. For more on that, click here. Las Vegas looks to be the leading candidate now.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reported that those in the company have heard Las Vegas is the likely destination now. Although early indications are the event will happen sometime in April 2015, “May dates were on the table and discussed.”

It was added WWE higher-ups haven’t been keen on the idea of having another cold-weather WrestleMania next year, even if they booked an indoor stadium. WrestleMania XL had heaters in the ring posts due to the weather.
