WWE Has Talked About Sending Another Top Star to NXT

Seth Rollins was the latest main roster star to go to NXT to work a match as he successfully defended his WWE World Heavyweight Title against Bron Breakker this past Tuesday night on the first week of Gold Rush.

Two weeks ago, Breakker had issued the challenge in a backstage segment. Last week, Rollins appeared via a pre-taped video where he answered the challenge.

Rollins joins the likes of AJ Styles, Johnny Gargano, Natalya, The Miz, Dolph Ziggler, Baron Corbin, Dana Brooke, and other main roster stars to go to NXT to work with the younger talent, an idea by WWE CEO Nick Khan to help boost NXT ratings.

In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that the idea of Ronda Rousey working a singles match or defending the Women’s Tag Team Titles with Shayna Baszler has been discussed.

Meltzer wrote, “There are plans for more major stars to work NXT like Rollins did this week. One name that was at least talked about was Rousey, or perhaps even having Rousey & Baszler defend the women’s tag titles there.”

As of this writing, Rousey and Baszler currently do not have a match booked for Money in the Bank next Saturday.
