WWE is working on holding a major PLE in Australia in the near future as the company continues to expand outside of the US market with these types of events.
WWE held big events in the country in the past, including in 2002 when they did the Global Warning event with over 56,000 fans in attendance to see a main event of The Rock beating Triple H and Brock Lesnar to retain the Undisputed WWE Championship.
In 2018, WWE held Super Show-Down, which drew 70,000 fans at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, headlined by Triple H vs. The Undertaker. Their most recent live event tour happened in 2019, so the market is due a WWE event.
In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that WWE is in talks to hold a major stadium show in Western Australia, similar to Super ShowDown
Meltzer wrote, “The state government of Western Australia is negotiating with WWE to run a major stadium show.”
It’s still unclear when the show will take place.
