WWE is looking to hold another premium live event in an international market this year, coming off the widely praised Backlash PLE in Puerto Rico.
WWE will hold its Night of Champions show at Jeddah SuperDome in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on May 27 before going to The O2 Arena in London, England, on July 1 for Money in the Bank and then Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan, for SummerSlam in August.
WWE has yet to confirm the dates and locations for the rest of their 2023 PLE schedule.
On Monday, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reported, “WWE has spoken with reps in Australia to gauge interest of a potential PLE event.”
The Boozer 666 Twitter account, which has broken past WWE stories, noted on the social media platform that an international PLE is planned for Saturday, September 2.
Ironically, this is the day before AEW traditionally holds its All Out pay-per-view event in Chicago on a Sunday night over Labor Day weekend. All Elite Wrestling has yet to confirm plans for this year’s event as they hold All In at Wembley the week before.
