Although WWE NXT Europe is still a go to launch, fans have been and will continue to wait a while to see it start up.
The closure
WWE confirmed in August 2022 that NXT UK would be going on hiatus ahead of launching the NXT Europe brand in 2023. Obviously, NXT Europe is not up and running, but the company did cut a lot of talent following the hiatus of the brand.
Some people thought WWE would not be launching the brand in 2023 due to months going by with no movement. Past reports have noted plans for the brand were on hold as the company waited for WWE to be acquired by the Endeavor Group with the plan to merge with the UFC to form a new company. That has gone through with the TKO name.
Update
While speaking with the media on Thursday to promote NXT Deadline, head of NXT creative Shawn Michaels was asked for an update on NXT Europe.
The WWE Hall of Famer said that things are still in the works for the brand and brought up recent announcements of WWE holding premium live events in international markets. He sees Europe as a hotbed for the company and will be ready to go for NXT Europe.
