There has been a lot of drama lately in AEW due to backstage issues among talent.
There have been two fights involving wrestlers. The Elite (Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks) mixed it up with CM Punk and Ace Steel backstage at All Out, while Andrade recently brawled with Sammy Guevara at this past Wednesday’s Dynamite.
WWE wants to avoid something similar. In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer noted that WWE has a listing for an Operations Manager to manage conflict within talent.
The description of the position notes that this person will work with the travel department and the creative team to ensure the announcers know the key points they need to get across for storylines, negotiate with announcers, and recruit new and help develop new ideas for announcers.
Meltzer pointed out an interesting line in the description: the Operations Manager “will have direct contact with talent and must be able to manage conflicting egos, personalities, and concerns.”
