Sami Zayn vs Damian Priest
Sami Zayn went for the Razor’s Edge but Zayn slipped out and gave Priest an Exploder. Zayn was setting up Priest for the Helluva Kick, but JD McDonagh came to ringside and grabbed Zayn’s leg when the referee was distracted. Priest grabbed Sami Zayn and gave him the South of Heaven and pinned him. After the match, McDonagh came in the ring and raised Priest’s hand but Priest shoved him down and told him to stay out of his business. Priest left the ring. McDonagh turned around to find Owens waiting for him and gave him a Stunner and Zayn gave him a Helluva Kick while Priest looked on from the aisle.

Backstage, Riddle told Drew McIntyre they should go to ringside to scout The Viking Raiders vs New Day match
In a pre-taped interview, Raquel Rodriguez said Rhea Ripley is the strongest woman in WWE except for her. She’s not going to let her run through the division especially after what Ripley did to Liv Morgan. She is going to show Ripley what it’s like to be at the mercy of someone who’s bigger and stronger and she will take her title at Payback.
In the ring, The Miz came out dressed like LA Knight and came out to his music. He imitated LA Knight’s catchphrases and told the audience it’s going to take more than that for Knight to beat him at Payback.
The New Day (Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods) vs The Viking Raiders (Erik & Ivar) (w/ Valhalla)
Riddle and Drew McIntyre sat next to the announce table to scout the match. Outside the ring, Ivar picked up Kingston and slammed him into Riddle and McIntyre. McIntyre threw a chair at Erik who ducked and it hit Woods. Ivar took out McIntyre with a Cannonball. The Vikings hit the Ragnarok on Kingston and pinned him.

Backstage, Balor told Priest they need to get on the same page if they want to win the tag team titles at Payback. Priest said they need to get on the same page and worry about Judgment Day business instead of people like JD McDonagh. Ripley told Priest and Balor she is tired of hearing them fight every week. If the Judgment Day doesn’t walk out with gold at the end of Payback, there is going to be changes.
A Bray Wyatt tribute video aired.
In the back, Kingston came out of the trainer’s dressing room. Riddle asked him how Woods is doing. Kingston said he will be okay. McIntyre told Kingston it was an accident. Kingston told him he knows he didn’t do it on purpose. McIntyre told Riddle that next week they are going to solve The Viking Raiders problem an he doesn’t want to have to tag in to beat their asses.
Ludwig Kaiser (w/ Gunther & Giovanni Vinci) vs Chad Gable (w/ Otis & Maxxine Dupri)
Before Gable came to the ring, Gunther stood on the announce table and said he suffered his first loss in over 500 days when Gable technically gained a victory last week when he won by count-out. Gunther said now he has his attention and he will defeat Gable next week on RAW in a championship match. Gable came into the ring and told Gunther that he will defeat him for the Intercontinental Championship. During the match, Gable gave Kaiser a German Suplex. Vinci came in to break up the pin attempt resulting in Kaiser getting disqualified. Otis came in and gave Vinci an overhead suplex. Vinci and Kaiser double-teamed Otis and then went to work on Gable. Gunther got in the ring and went for a powebomb, but Gable slipped out and caught Gunther in the ankle lock. Vinci and Kaiser immediately jumped Gable and then Gunther powebombed Gable.

In the ring, Seth Rollins told Shinsuke Nakamura to come to the ring and tell him what he wants to say to his face. Nakamura appeared on the video wall. He said he doesn’t just want to defeat Rollins, he wants to dismantle him. He wants Rollins’ wife to know that he’s the reason why she has to help him out of bed and why he won’t be able to walk his daughter down the aisle on her wedding day because he will be broken when he destroys his back. Rollins asked what happened to the man who headlined The Tokyo Dome and lit the world on fire when he came to NXT. Rollins said he will beat him at Payback. Nakamura jumped Rollins from behind, whispered in his ear, and kicked him in the head which knocked him out.
Backstage, Zayn said he’s tired of The Judgement Day because no matter how many times he beats them, they find a way to get cheap victories when they play the numbers game. Owens said he went to Adam Pearce and got their match against the Judgment Day to be a Pittsburgh Steel City Street Fight at Payback and they will end this once and for all.
