In the ring, Sami Zayn said he’s glad him and Kevin Owens are going to face Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa at Night of Champions because both Zayn and Owens should have beaten Reigns in their championship matches. Reigns has gone unchecked for too long. It’s never enough with Reigns as now he wants the tag team titles. He’s pushed everybody too far including The Usos. The Judgement Day came out. As they made their way to the ring, Owens said he’s tired of talking about The Bloodline. He told The Judgment Day he has no idea why they’re out here, but if they want to fight, then let’s fight. Zayn said they don’t have an issue with The Judgment Day. We don’t know why they’re out here. Maybe they’re not out here to fight. Priest told Zayn that Owens is spot on and he would love to fight. Finn Balor said he’s wishing them luck against Solo and Roman, but they are confused because last week they said they are done with The Bloodline, but it looks like they are back where they started. If by some miracle they do beat The Bloodline, there is a line of Superstars waiting for them, and the line starts here. When they booed Dominik, Owens said he can’t hear anything he’s saying and we should just punch him in the face. Zayn said, sure why not. As Owens went to punch Dominik, Rhea Ripley stood in front of him and Owens held back. Priest sucker punched Zayn. Ripley punched Owens and The Judgment Day all stomped on Owens until Zayn brought in a chair which made Judgment Day leave the ring.
Shinsuke Nakamura vs The Miz
The Miz hit the Skull Crushing Finale on Nakamura, but Nakamura got his foot on the rope. Nakamura rolled up The Miz for a near fall and then hit the Kinshasa on The Miz and pinned him.

Backstage, Adam Pearce said that Liv Morgan is injured. As a result of this, the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship Match between Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez against Sonya Deville and Chelsea Green is postponed. Deville and Green both said they should be champions due to the forfeit. Pearce said that is not going to happen. Rodriguez challenged Green to a match. Pearce said that’s a good idea.
Imperium came down before the Battle Royal. Gunther said he dominated SmackDown for a year. No man at RAW has been identified as a challenger nor has anybody earned his respect, but one man can achieve both when they win the Battle Royal and earn a shot at his Intercontinental Championship.
Battle Royal with the winner getting an Intercontinental Championship Match against Gunther at Night of Champions:
-Angel, Humberto, Mace, Mansoor, Ivar, Erik, Shelton Benjamin, Cedric Alexander, Elias, Akira Tazawa, Riddick Moss, JD McDonagh, Dolph Ziggler, Johnny Gargano, Dexter Lumis, Von Wagner, Apollo Crews, Bronson Reed, Matt Riddle, Ricochet, Chad Gable, Otis, Mustafa Ali, Xyon Quinn, Baron Corbin.
Riddle leg flipped Gargano over the top rope. With Riddle on the ring apron, Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci attacked Riddle. Reed pushed Riddle off the ring apron to eliminate him. Ricochet and Ali double teamed Reed to try to eliminate him. They got him over the top rope, but only to the ring apron. Ricochet tried several times to knock Reed to the floor, but was unable to do so. Reed got Ricochet on his shoulders and was getting ready to toss him out when Ali came off the top turnbuckle and kicked them both, sending both Reed and Ricochet to the floor to eliminate them and win the Battle Royal.

In the ring, Becky Lynch thanked Trish Stratus for hitting her in the back of her head because it turned on the light in her that had been off for many months and she will beat her at Night of Champions.
Backstage, Natalya told Rhea Ripley that she is the most dominant woman to hold that championship. She deserves nothing but respect but is not allowing the other woman she’s running through. Ripley told Natalya that if she ever interrupts her again, she’s going to end her career.
Backstage, Mustafa Ali told Chad Gable and Otis that he used to be a loser like them, but then he started thinking positively, and now he’s a winner. He then bumped into Imperium. Gunther told Ali that he is going to travel half way across the world to suffer a beating. He shook Ali’s hand. Ali told Gunther he is going to go half way around the world to lose his Intercontinental Championship.
Xavier Woods vs Dominik Mysterio (w/ Rhea Ripley)
Wood went to the top rope to jump on Mysterio, but Ripley pulled Mysterio out of the ring. Woods dove over the top rope on to Mysterio. Ripley and Woods argued outside the ring and Mysterio gave Woods a baseball slide outside the ring. Ripley punched Woods and threw him back into the ring. Mysterio rolled up Woods and pinned him.
===Winner: Dominik Mysterio
A vignette aired of JD McDonagh aired. He said for years he believed if he worked as hard as he could and trusted the process that he would succeed. As the years passed by and saw others get opportunities before him, he realized he was performing in front of an audience of fools. The Irish Ace is here to stay.
Backstage, McDonagh said he attacked Dolph Ziggler earlier tonight in the Battle Royal. McDonagh said Ziggler found out what the rest of the roster is going to find out and that is to never bet against an Ace.
Indus Sher (Veer and Sanga) (w/ Jinder Mahal) squashed two guys
Backstage, Imperium confronted Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens. Gunther told them he will not tolerate the disrespect he showed his men last week. Owens said next week, they will fight all three of them. Zayn said he will find a partner.
In the ring, Cody Rhodes said Brock Lesnar is on top and has been on top because he is better than 99.9% of the Superstars that come in this ring, but at Backlash, he was not better than him. Lesnar is not the next big thing anymore. He is someone who is in his way.
Backstage, Zoey Stark tried to talk to Nikki Cross who didn’t respond. Stark called Cross a freak. Candice LeRae showed up and told Stark not to talk to Cross like that. Stark asked LeRae where her family is. LeRae told Stark not to talk about her family and challenged her to a match. Stark agreed to a match for next week.
Raquel Rodriguez vs Chelsea Green (w/ Sonya Deville)
Rodriguez gave Green three fall away slams. She then gave Green a senton bomb and the Tahana Bomb and pinned her.

After the match, Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler attacked Rodriguez. Rousey said Rodriguez will defend her tag team title with or without Liv Morgan or she will get the same exact beating every week until she does. Baszler then gave Rodriguez a running knee strike.
Imperium were backstage. Gunther shook hands with Paul Heyman and left. Heyman picked up his phone and said, call Roman Reigns.
In a pre-tape, Seth Rollins said this is his most authentic self and it’s the first time he didn’t force a change. The WWE Universe forced the change. Rollins said it’s the right time for him to become the World Heavyweight Champion because we need a change. He doesn’t feel like anybody at the top wants to take any risks with the title they’re holding. They’re more about protecting themselves than pushing the industry forward. Now is the perfect time for a new World Heavyweight Championship and do it the way it’s supposed to be done. When asked what he thinks of Roman Reigns as Universal Champion, it cut off and said continued next week.
Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn vs Damian Priest & Finn Balor
A vignette aired on Apollo Crews aired. He said he fought back from adversity and now this is his time.
Dominik Mysterio and Rhea Ripley came down to ringside. Dominik tripped Owens and the referee tossed out Dominik and Ripley. As Dominik and Ripley made their way to the back, Xavier Woods attacked Dominik and they brawled to the back. Paul Heyman came out. Imperium came to ringside. Zayn gave Balor the Helluva Kick. Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci got up on the ring apron to distract the referee. Owens punched them both off the ring apron. Owens rolled out of the ring and pushed Gunther. Priest gave Owens a chokeslam on the ring apron. Zayn dove over the top rope onto Priest. Zayn set up Balor for another Helluva Kick, but Kaiser and Vinci distracted the referee while Gunther grabbed Zayn’s leg which stopped him in his tracks. Balor dropkicked Zayn into the turnbuckle while Gunther was still holding Zayn’s leg. Balor gave Zayn the Coup de Grace on Zayn and pinned him as Heyman was talking on his phone with a smile on his face.
