WWE Nixed WrestleMania 40 Segment Involving Two Former Stars

The WWE WrestleMania XL premium live event from Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is officially in the books after the two-night event over the weekend.

The first night featured Roman Reigns and The Rock defeating Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins in the tag team headliner, while the second night saw Rhodes finish his story by beating Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Title.

WWE always brings in several legends and Hall of Famers for the weekend, whether for the Hall of Fame ceremony, signings, or appearances. The company had plans for two Hall of Famers on the second night of the event, but it ended up being nixed.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reported, “There was a Lita and Trish involvement in the Hall of Fame segment that was nixed, apparently.” Paul Heyman headlined the Hall of Fame class this year.
