Carmelo Hayes vs. Lexis King was booked at this year’s WWE NXT Deadline premium live event. The storyline heading into the bout was that King blamed Hayes for attacking Williams in a sneak attack. The following is the play-by-play coverage of the match:
Hayes went right after him and worked over the right hand. King took over and beat him down for a few minutes. King hit a big clothesline before asking for a handshake. Hayes and King fell awkwardly off the top rope and onto the apron. Hayes landed on his left knee and sold it. Back in the ring, Hayes hit finisher for the win.
Winner: Carmelo Hayes
