WWE NXT Champion Ilja Dragunov vs. Baron Corbin was booked at this year’s WWE NXT Deadline premium live event. The following is the play-by-play coverage of the match:
Dragunov put up a fight at first before Corbin started to beat him down and get heat. Corbin with a clothesline off the top rope for 2. Dragunov finally fought back with a series of chops in the corner. They brawled on the top rope. They fell backwards and Corbin put him in a choke hold. Dragunov with a powerslam in the corner. Corbin with a few signature moves for near falls. Dragunov with a powerbomb and coast-to-coast. Dragunov with a few H-bombs. Dragunov whispered something to Corbin before hitting a running uppercut for the win.
Winner: Ilja Dragunov
