Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams arrived outside the building. Reporters interviewed Williams and Hayes walked into the building. After the NXT Deadline recap, Hayes was shown down on the ground holding his knee. Williams came in and asked what happened and told the referees to get some help.
Cora Jade said everybody is talking about her return. Lyra Valkyria came out and said I’m not the same woman you used to mess with before you left. I’m the NXT Women’s champion. Blair Davenport came out and told Lyra that I won the Iron Survivor Match and at New Year’s Evil, I will be the champion. Nikita Lyons came out and told Blair that I haven’t forgotten what you did to me in the parking lot. Blair hit Nikita. Nikita and Lyra cleared the ring of Cora and Blair.
Backstage, Dragon Lee said I won this title, but I wouldn’t have had this opportunity if it wasn’t for the unfortunate injury to the greatest North American Champion, Wes Lee. I wish you a speedy recovery. I’m going to defend this title like he did as much as possible starting tonight.
Six Person Tag Team Match
Josh Briggs, Brooks Jensen, & Fallon Henley vs The Meta-Four (Noam Dar, Ora Mensah, Lash Legend) (w/ Jakara Jackson)
Tiffany Stratton came down and got into it with Henley as they fought to the back. Jensen rolled up Dar for a near fall. Briggs tagged in, clotheslined Dar, and pinned him.

Backstage, the doctor told Carmelo Hayes that everything is fine and he is cleared to wrestle. Trick Williams asked Hayes who hit him. Hayes said I don’t know, but I know somebody who’s hit me like this before. Williams asked who, and Hayes said I can’t tell you here, but I will tell you later and since I’m cleared, I’m going to call him out. Williams said I’m ready to ride. I’m going to take care of the Dragunov situation and we’re good. Hayes said you take care of your business and I’ll take care of mine.
The 2023 NXT Breakout Tournament Superstars were introduced: Trey Bearhill, Dion Lennox, Luca Crusifino, Tavion Heights, Keanu Carter, Riley Osborne, Myles Borne, Oba Femi. Lexis King came out and hit Bearhill with a chair.
1st Round of the Men’s 2023 NXT Breakout Tournament Match
Miles Borne vs Oba Femi
Femi gave Borne a running elbow into the turnbuckle. Borne gave Femi a powerslam. Femi gave Borne a popup powerbomb and pinned him.
===Winner: Oba Femi
Backstage, Nikita Lyons told Lyra Valkyria she wants to get her hands on Blair Davenport. Lyra opened her locker and found a picture of herself with Tatum Paxley. Lyra said the picture was with her and Becky Lynch and wondered how Tatum got herself in this picture. Nikita said Tatum is a weird one.
Backstage, Tiffany Stratton said I am sick of Fallon Henley and she will never be me.
NXT North American Championship Match:
Dragon Lee vs Tyler Bate
Bate blocked the powerbomb. Lee blocked the Tiger Driver ’97 and gave him a hurricanrana for a near fall. Lee gave Bate a knee. Bate gave Lee a punch to the chin. Lee gave Bate the Operation Dragon and pinned him. Lee and Bate shook hands after the match
===Winner: Dragon Lee
Backstage, Josh Briggs told Brooks Jensen that he is going to keep the momentum going and win the NXT Heritage Cup.
Backstage, Ava told Lexis King that he will be replacing Trey Bearhill in the Breakout tournament.
Dijak vs Eddie Thorpe
Dijak rammed Thorpe into the turnbuckle which broke off which injured Thorpe’s ribs. Dijak hit Thorpe with the turnbuckle and the referee called for the bell. Dijak picked up Thorpe and dropped him ribs first onto the middle turnbuckle.
Andre Chase met with his students. Thea Hail asked if she could leave to watch Keanu Carver’s match. SCRYPTS came in with a briefcase and told him he has a proposition for him.
Backstage, Lyra Valkyria said she will team with Cora Jade tonight, but she will win the NXT Women’s title at New Year’s Evil.
1st Round of the Men’s 2023 NXT Breakout Tournament Match:
Keanu Carver vs Riley Osborne
Carver gave Osborne a dropkick. Osborne gave Carver a pounce. Carver gave Osborne a shooting star press and pinned him.
===Winner: Riley Osborne
Drew Gulak, Miles Borne, Charlie Dempsey and Damon Kemp approached Dragon Lee and asked if he would be having an open challenge every week. Lee said yes. Gulak said we accept your challenge for next week. When Gulak was asked which one is accepting, Gulak said we will let you know next week.
Backstage, Thea Hail approached Riley Osborne. Osborne said he will catch her in class.
Lyra Valkyria & Nikita Lyons vs Blair Davenport & Cora Jade
Valkyria kicked Jade in the head. Davenport gave Valkyria a Falcon’s Arrow, but Lyons broke it up. Lyons threw Cora out of the ring. Davenport kicked Lyons. Davenport gave Valkyria a knee to her face, but Lyons pulled her out of the ring and Jade covered Valkyria for the win.
===Winners: Blair Davenport & Cora Jade
After the match, Tatum Paxley threw threw Lyons out of the ring and crawled over to Valkyria and hugged her.
Backstage, Hank Walker and Tank Ledger told Gallows they will defeat them next week. Joe Gacy got off the forklift in a hard hat and said it take a Joe to know a Joe.
In the ring, Ilja Dragunov told Trick Williams he is proud of him for winning the Iron Man Challenge. You have incredible momentum, but at New Year’s Evil, it comes to an end. Williams said in three weeks, I’m going to be NXT Champion. Carmelo Hayes came out. Hayes told Williams for two months, my name has been dragged through the dirt. The person that attacked you is the same person that attacked me. Dragunov told Hayes I am going to leave you to your business. Hayes said don’t go and told Dragunov it was you who took me and Williams out. I put all the pieces together and you knew if you pit Trick and I against each other and then you beat Trick, you would have all of this to yourself. Dragunov told Hayes I didn’t attack you if you did get attacked. Hayes said you need to have something taken from you like Trick and I did. As Hayes struggled to grab the NXT belt from Dragunov, the belt hit Williams in the face to end the show.
