WWE NXT Star Dealing With a Broken Wrist

Injuries are going to happen in the pro wrestling business, no matter the style or the promotion, as it’s part of the sport. WWE NXT has lost one star due to an injury that recently caused changes to the booking.

WWE moved forward with the NXT Women’s Breakout Tournament this week on NXT TV, where Jakara Jackson was slated to take on Arianna Grace in an opening round match. However, on Monday, WWE announced that Jackson, who is part of the Meta-Four stable with Noam Dar, Oro Mensah, and Lash Legend, was pulled from the tournament.

WWE’s announcement noted she wasn’t medically cleared to compete, thus forcing her out of the tournament with Brinley Reece, a newcomer to NXT TV, replacing her.

Reece put Grace over in the match, leading to Grace advancing. Also, Karmen Petrovic advanced and now they’re slated for semifinal matches on next week’s show, with Grace battling Kelani Jordan and Petrovic taking on Lola Vice.

In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that it’s believed that Jackson suffered a broken wrist.

Meltzer wrote, “Jakara Jackson suffered an injury, believed to be a broken wrist, and that eliminated her from the NXT breakout tournament.”
