WWE NXT star has been given a new name

Valerie Loureda has been given a new name that appears to be inspired by a popular 1980s TV show.

Valerie Loureda revealed on Twitter that her new name is Lola Vice. The last name is based on the “Miami Vice” TV show.

The 23-year old Cuban American signed with WWE in June and she began training at the Performance Center in July. Her signing drew extra media attention because of her history as a Bellator MMA fighter.

Loureda told Ariel Helwani’s MMA Hour that the deal with WWE came together when her agent Abe Kawa worked with WWE on AJ Ferrari’s NIL deal and she was invited to attend WrestleMania.

During her days in Bellator MMA, she had a 4-1 record and her last fight was in November 2021. Loureda has over a million followers across her social media platforms.

The name change is oftentimes a sign that the company wants to feature her on TV soon. However, it’s worth noting that this is not always how things play out. There is no official word on when she will start appearing on NXT TV.
