The WWE Draft is returning in just days as it will be a two-night event across April 26 and April 29 on Raw and SmackDown. Main roster and NXT stars will be included in the Draft. The idea behind WWE holding the Draft on the week of the NFL Draft is being done to capitalize on “draft fever” as they have in the past.
As previously reported, Carmelo Hayes and NXT Champion Ilja Dragunov are said to be “a lock” for the main roster in the draft. Despite being expected at one point due to crowd support, Trick Williams is no longer in the running to be called up.
NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez’s status for the draft still remains up in the air. WWE has also discussed bringing up Tony D’Angelo’s Family and Baron Corbin to the main roster.
In the case of Corbin, Corbin has been in a tag team with Breakker in NXT and there has been some past chatter about WWE potentially keeping them a tag team on the main roster.
Pwinsider reported that Corbin will be at SmackDown this week and next week’s Raw. It’s unclear whether he will be called up.
