Apollo Crews took on Carmelo Hayes in a 2-out-3 falls match at WWE NXT Vengeance Day.
After a slow start, Crews caught him with a drop kick as Hayes went for a spring board move. Hayes worked over the jaw after Crews missed a moonsault on the floor. Crews hit a suplex from the apron to the inside of the ring for a near fall. They started doing near falls including Hayes with a cutter before he picked up the first fall with the crossface.
Crews rallied with a series of standing moonsaults. The turnbuckle was exposed and Hayes was sent into it. Trick Williams tried to get involved, but Dabba Kato aka Commander Azeez took him out. Hayes went to the top rope after hitting a spring board clothesline to hit his finisher for the win. Post-match, Kato picked up Crews and hugged Crews before laying him out.
Is that…?
