We are sad to learn about the passing of Jerry Springer.
Most fans will remember him as one of the most influential and controversial daytime talk show hosts in history and some fans may remember that he was a guest host of an episode of WWE Raw several years ago.
Springer was also friendly to pro wrestling on his own show as he had Razor Ramon (Scott Hall) as a guest in the 90s to surprise kids who were fans of him. Justin Roberts was among many wrestling-related personalities who appeared as a guest on the show. In his case, he was on there to play a character long before he got into the wrestling business.
Springer first appeared live on a WWE show in 2010 as the guest host of Raw. He also appeared on a 2014 episode an an “intervention” segment with The Bella Twins and he hosted “Jerry Springer Presents WWE Too Hot For TV” on the WWE Network in 2015.
Prior to his talk show, Springer was a politician and served as the mayor of Cincinnati, Ohio. TMZ reports that Springer was battling pancreatic cancer and his family confirmed that he passed after a “brief illness.”
