Paul Heyman greeted The Usos who arrived outside the arena. Jey asked him where the Tribal Chief was. Heyman hugged Jey Uso and said the Tribal Chief is proud of him and he’s proud of him too. Jey told him when he finds out where he is, let him know he’s here. Kayla Braxton asked Jey why he turned on Sami Zayn. Jey said whatever he has to say, he’s going to say it in the ring tonight. Jimmy said she needs to ask Cody Rhodes why he’s involved in the Bloodline business.
– Fatal 5-Way Intercontinental Championship Qualifying Match: Drew McIntyre vs Sheamus vs Xavier Woods vs LA Knight vs Karrion Kross (with Scarlett)
Woods came off the top rope but was met by a boot by Sheamus. McIntyre hit Knight with the Claymore Kick. Sheamus covered Woods. McIntyre covered Knight. One ref made the count for Sheamus as another ref made the count for McIntyre.
Backstage, Heyman said Cody Rhodes got involved in the Bloodline business. Heyman said that Roman Reigns told him the way to beat Cody is to smash him with the truth because the truth for Cody is in his past that he couldn’t control that will put such an emotional baggage on him that by the time he walks into WrestleMania, he will be defeated.
Rey Mysterio was announced as being the first member inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2023.
In the ring, Rey Mysterio started to talk about being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame when Judgment Day showed up. Dominik asked Rey how many birthdays, Christmas, Thanksgivings, and soccer games did he miss to make this Hall of Fame career? He said he’s ashamed to be his son. Legado Del Fantasma. Santos Escobar said Fantasma and Judgment Day were supposed to have a match later tonight, but they want it now.
They announced Bad bunny will host Backlash on May 6th in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Judgment Day (Finn Balor, Damian Priest & Dominick Mysterio) (with Rhea Ripley) vs Legado Del Fantasma (Santos Escobar, Cruz Del Toro & Joaquin Wilder) (with Rey Mysterio & Zelina Vega)
Dominik did a baseball slide under the bottom rope hitting Rey outside the ring. Del Toro rolled up Dominik, but Priest kicked Del Toro while the referee was distracted. Dominik covered Del Toro and the ref turned around to count the pin.
Winners: Judgment Day
After the match, Dominik asked Rey to come into the ring. He said he doesn’t understand why he is being inducted into the Hall of Fame and the only Hall of Fame he should be inducted into is the deadbeat dad hall of fame. He said at the end of the day, he should have been Eddie’s son. Dominik pie faced Rey. Dominik charged at Rey. Rey ducked which sent Dominik through the ropes. Rey said he will not fight him but Dominik said yes he will.
They announced Jimmie Allen will perform America The Beautiful at WrestleMania
Backstage, Charlotte Flair told Adam Pearce she wants a match tonight
Braun Strowman & Ricochet vs The Viking Raiders (with Valhalla)
Ricochet went for the 450 off the top rope, but Ivar moved out of the way. Ivar hit Ricochet a heel kick. He then came off the top rope with a big splash on Ricochet and pinned him.
Winners: The Viking Raiders
Backstage, Gunther told Adam Reigns that there can only be one challenger for his Intercontinental Championship. Pearce said Drew McIntyre will face Sheamus next week with the winner to face Gunther at WrestleMania.
Charlotte Flair vs Shotzi
Flair was ready to apply the Figure 8 on Shotzi when Rhea Ripley made her way to ringside. Charlotte got the Figure 8 on Shotzi who tapped out.
Winner: Charlotte Flair
After the match, Rhea Ripley got in the ring. Ripley said when she looks into her eyes, she sees all her insecurities, and at WrestleMania, she is going to take the one thing that makes her feel important when she becomes the SmackDown Women’s Champion. Charlotte said Ripley has improved but she has improved every single day. Ripley can rip anybody who stands in her way except for her.
In the ring, Jey said everybody is wondering why he turned on Sami. He said because he had to. He didn’t want to do it, but he didn’t have a choice because Jimmy is his brother. He told them they don’t know what he goes through. He blamed Sami Zayn because his brother would have been clipped. All that Sami had to do was fall in line, but he doesn’t know anything about that because he’s not blood and never will be. Jimmy said they got rid of the Sami Zayn problem, now the only thing left is to get rid of Cody Rhodes. Cody came out. He said The Usos said they have to answer to Roman Reigns, but he doesn’t. He answers to the people. It sounds like they don’t want to hear them talk. It sounds like they would rather see them fight. Jimmy told Cody if he takes another step, he won’t make it to WrestleMania because they will put him on the shelf like they did with Sami Zayn. Zayn charged the ring from the side and took down Jey. The Usos started to double team Sami but Cody rushed in. Cody and Sami brawled with The Usos. Cody and Sami cleared the ring together and Cody raised Sami’s hand.
