WWE star getting more singles matches and praise for changing his body, improving in-ring work

Angelo Dawkins has joined his tag team partner, Montez Ford, in getting the attention of WWE officials in a positive way. Dawkins has seen an increase in singles matches, seemingly due to his improvements in his in-ring work.

Fightful Select reported today that one WWE source heavily credited “Dawkins with improvements all around, from his physique, to his in-ring ability, to the style that he’s worked.” Another source stated that it’s not an accident WWE has booked Dawkins in more singles matches since this summer.

Dawkins has had as many singles matches since June 20 that he had from WrestleMania 37 to May 2022, which is the same source that said they’d overheard higher-ups speaking well of Dawkins.

One AEW wrestler spoke with Fightful and noted that they felt like Dawkins could be a breakout member of the group if he gets opportunities with singles matches. The expectation is that Dawkins will keep getting put into singles matches at a rate that exceeded this Summer.

WWE is also using Dawkins in singles matches because Ford is currently dealing with an injury.

At the WWE Money In The Bank pay-per-view, it looked like WWE was going to be splitting up The Street Profits in the near future, but those teases dropped once Vince McMahon resigned and Triple H took over creative.

As previously reported, WWE officials have been high on Ford for a while and at some people in WWE management wanted to push him as a singles star while McMahon was still in charge.
