At a time when WWE is getting closer to its next NXT premium live event, Deadline, next month, the company has been holding iron Survivor Challenge matches ahead of the show for both the NXT Championship and NXT Women’s Title.
Matches that took place on this week’s NXT saw NXT Heritage Cup holder Noam Dar vs. Akira Tozawa (with Alpha Academy), Bron Breakker vs. Von Wagner and Tiffany Stratton vs. Fallon Henley, Dijak vs. Tyler Bate in Iron Survivor Challenge matches.
While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Bryan Alvarez and Dave Meltzer talked about Henley being in concussion protocol with a believed concussion. It was speculated to have happened when Stratton accidentally landed on her head when doing her moonsault finisher in the bout.
Alvarez: “Fallon Henley also is in concussion protocol. And shouldn’t concussion protocol mean you’ve got a concussion? That’s why you’re in the protocol. That kind of what that means.”
Meltzer: ”It means you’re suspected. So was that from when Tiffany Stratton just threw her on the floor?”
Alvarez: ”No, no, I mean, I am speculating, but I’m 99% sure that it was the end of the match because Tiffany was going for the PME. And when you’re going for it, she always looks to see where the person is. And then she goes because once she goes, she can’t see where they’re at. So, if you watch what happened, she looks back and she sees Fallon there. She starts to go for the move. She thought Fallon was in the right position, but if she went for the move, I think Fallon thought that she was in the wrong position. Because you can see her scoot south a little bit.”
Meltzer: ”Because Fallon was moving.”
Alvarez: “She scooted the wrong way, and Tiffany landed on her face, and she just smashed her head on that moonsault. And, I mean, you could see immediately when she had that moonsault like, Fallon’s head bounced off the mat, she’s like, ‘Oh.’ And Tiffany pinned her, and I’m almost certain that’s where it happened. but yeah, she also is injured, so best wishes to both of them. Not good.”
